DEAR Time.
Kids know what this is, and the DEAR routine, from elementary school.
Drop!
Everything!
And!
Read!
During DEAR Time, students choose any book they want and quietly and independently read somewhere in the classroom.
It's a special time of the school day, and a needed change of pace, usually after recess or lunch hour.
Try implementing DEAR Time in your home.
Get everyone in the family on board, with a book of choice, and read in a designated time.
Maybe it will become a new family habit!
